2. GDPR compliance & legal basis
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"). As a company established in the Czech Republic and operating within the European Economic Area (EEA), GDPR applies to all personal data we process about users in the EU and EEA.
We process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis to do so:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you requested, including navigation and audio guide features
- Consent — for precise location tracking and optional features such as marketing communications; you may withdraw consent at any time
- Legitimate interests — to improve, secure, and maintain the Service, where those interests are not overridden by your rights
- Legal obligation — where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law
Where we rely on consent as the legal basis, you may withdraw that consent at any time via your device or app settings without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service

- Generate personalized routes and recommendations
- Respond to your inquiries and send service-related communications
- Send early access updates and product announcements (with your consent)

- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data sharing & processors
We may share your information with the following categories of recipients:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — we use Firebase for authentication, database storage (Firestore), file storage, and serverless functions. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms.
- Google Maps Platform (Google LLC) — we use Google's navigation and mapping services to power route display and navigation features.
- Payment processors — third-party payment providers who process transactions securely on our behalf; we do not store your card details.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of AI Guide and its users.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice.
All third-party processors are required to process your data in accordance with GDPR and are bound by data processing agreements that include appropriate safeguards.
5. International data transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google LLC (Firebase and Google Maps), are based in the United States. When personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — approved by the European Commission for international transfers
- Adequacy decisions — where the European Commission has determined that the recipient country ensures an adequate level of protection
You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting us at [email protected].
6. AI processing
Our Service uses AI and automated systems to generate routes, produce audio content, and personalize recommendations. Some of your data — such as location history and usage patterns — may be processed by these automated systems.
This processing may constitute automated decision-making under Article 22 GDPR. However, it is not intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects on you — its sole purpose is to enhance navigation and content quality within the Service. You may contact us to request human review of any automated output that affects you.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right of access — to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restriction — to request that we limit how we process your data
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16. In accordance with GDPR, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
